Slightly-more-detailed overview:

I was born October 9, 1975. I was born in Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. I lived in Maryland for a year, then moved to New Jersey due to my father's job. We lived in New Jersey for a year and then moved back to the same neighborhood in Maryland. I went to school in the Prince George's County public school system until I graduated high school in 1993. I then went to the University of Maryland, College Park from 1993 - 1998. At the University, I majored in Russian Language and Literature.

After college, I started my own computer consulting company with two guys I met through an internship I had at the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR), in Washington, D.C. After draining my bank accounts and living on credit cards for a year while working at the company, I decided to get a Real Job™. I was fortunate enough to get hired with USA TODAY, where I worked in the Publishing Solutions division of the Information Technology department.

I then moved to Portland, OR. Portland was a beautiful city, though the economy in Oregon is in quite a bad situation. I lived in Portland for a year, but it was a rough year. The job market wasn't exactly good, and the only job I could find was driving buses for a charter bus company. The job was a lot of fun, but it wasn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

While my one-year mark in Portland was approaching, I managed to get an interview with Qwest for an IT job based in Denver. I went through the interview process, and at the end I was told to expect an offer packet. I moved to Denver, only to have the job fall through because of budget cuts and layoffs.

In Denver, I've made a lot of friends through the Gender Identity Center of Colorado. I've found a job working as a bus driver for RTD, the regional transit company. I've made friends at work, too. It's a fun job, but I am still looking for an IT job.
